摘要：In this talk, I will talk about maximal operator in the plane. After reviewing some classical results of Bourgain circular maximal theorem and Sogge’s cinematic curvature, I will focus on our result. We classify planar maximal functions: We find all the curves such that Nikodym sets exist, thus the maximal operator is not bounded on L^p for any p<∞; For other curves, we prove sharp L^p bound. This is based on joint work with Shaoming Guo.
